Our Story

IN 1998, Mike Mace turned a lifelong passion into a mission-driven business with the founding of Mace's Heavy Duty Towing. The journey began when Mike purchases the property of a local ambulance service from his former boss, who was retiring and closing down operations. Rather than let the space sit idle, Mike saw an opportunity to carry forward something bigger — continuing the auto repair side of the business and, soon after, reviving towing services in the area.

But Mike's love for the towing industry didn't start there. It began at just 14 years old, when he got his first taste of the profession working for a local service station that also operated a few wreckers. What started as a job quickly grew into a calling. He was hooked — not just on the mechanics, but on the service, and the responsibility, and the satisfaction that came with helping people in their time of need.

From that early experience, Mike dreamed of one day running his own towing company. And with Mace's Heavy Duty Towing, that dream became a reality. Since day one, Mike has poured his energy into building a company that Memphis and the surrounding areas can rely on — day or night, rain or shine.

Driven by Care

FAMILY-OWNED and operated, that family mindset extends to every member of the Mace's team. Mike is proud to lead a group of highly trained and safety-focused operators who take genuine pride in their work. Every operator undergoes professional training through a certified training program, ensuring they're prepared to respond to any situation with skill, speed and care.

At the heart of Mace's mission is a deep respect for the customer and the community. Whether it's clearing a major accident to keep traffic flowing, helping a stranded driver, or recovering a heavy-duty vehicle, Mike and his team are committed to doing the job right — with professionalism, safety and empathy.

Rooted in Service

OVER THE YEARS, Mace's has grown into a name Memphis can trust. But for Mike, it's still about the same thing it was when he was 14 — showing up, solving problems and serving the public.
